As a fiery orange sun burst over the horizon before me and the full harvest moon still sat dreamily against the purple-blue haze behind me, a thought struck:

KNOWING we would misinterpret and divide over jot and tittle and the validity of the Bible, God still had men, over the course of centuries, compile and treasure and keep it - for us.

KNOWING we would wholly ruin, smudge, trample, and abuse in some relationships, God still established marriage, friendship, and relationship - even with us.

KNOWING we would fall into the hands of idolization, idealization, horrors, ideological crusades, and frauds, God still ordained kings, priests, peoples, and nations for progress, peace, or protection to fulfill His larger purposes.

KNOWING that Adam and Eve would fail His command, lose management of the Garden, and toil for lesser things, God still provided humanity the ability to grow gardens, work with their hands, and subdue every creature.

KNOWING it would be misused, whitewashed, and eventually destroyed, God still gave His people hope in their day and provided for the rebuilding of the Temple in ancient days. KNOWING some would never accept Him, and that all are subject to the Father’s will, Jesus still went to the cross for all.

These things are magnanimous. A higher way.

KNOWING I lose myself in big-picture futilities and ends that don’t motivate means, God makes the night as bright as day and sparks a thought - for me.

Magnanimous.
